Launching not only the last Imagination Pages 357 - 370
It was a good ending in the book to end it with the importance of context - because that is very important in everything that is done in this world. The Context.... The advantages of Installation Art are very important in this day in age with more and more installations being made to keep art alive. (359). A fresh perspective on a familiar setting or situation, a large scale, increased viewer involvement, and many many more. Overall, this was s very interesting book and a very interesting class and I have felt privileged to have taken a class with Peter Christenson as the professor. And to be completely honest, I had no idea what to expect and I was kind of scared. And all I can remember is saying my name and standing class on the first day and thinking "oh boy, here we go" and now I'm like "oh boy, what's next?"
LTI 331-357
On page 353 the 'Writing a Text' section really speaks... It many useful ways that can be used in the future with me and my art works. Especially learning in this class that text and type style have a massive effect on the project/image/poster itself. Rather or not the person stays with the same text, reflects on their artwork in a negative or positive sense depending on the piece.
Launching the imagination. Pages 311 - 331
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how this section references Schinlder's List. Cause that movie has so many different references to different forms of art that it's historic mainly for it's artistic structure. (Pages 313 - 316). Ohh style, how styles change over time is immaculant, the styles change with culture and technology over time. Therefore it makes it really intriguing how they all flow.
(Okay may be the wrong change with style, butttttt still applies right?)

On page 297 the transitions section was most interesting to me. I really like the on action-to-action transitions they made me laugh. (Image 13.11 & 13.12) With the mime ninja looking guy.

Launching the Imagination Pages 256-287
This section basically explains the back story of the viewer and an art piece. As in for the section of boundaries: I have previously in past classes help set-up the art gallery, and it does take a certain boundary between each piece in order to view it properly. Whether on can walk around it, or just stand in front of it. If its in a corner or in the middle of the room, it all makes a dramitic difference on the piece itself. Which, brings me to the section that really intrigued me, is the section upon building on a tradition. I grew up in a traditional place, the Colville Indian Reservation and everything there seems traditional from the camas root that grows on the land, to the patience and beauty put into regalias. Attention switches with the mood in which you are put into in order to fully enjoy a traditional piece of art. Like basket weaving to tanning a hide, it's all art.

MATERIALS: The foundation of all art pieces. The materials that are put into an art piece makes the piece that more attractive and could change the WHOLE thing. Stone, clay, metals, wood, glass, plastics, fibers, or even ephemeral materials. WHICH I had no idea that what "trash art" was called. Ephemeral... I like the sound of that. Though, these materials have alot in common, they have differences than any.

Launching the Imagination 198-231
I wish there were more ways to present art to the public. Installations are such a great way to show the creative mind and a sense of a different world in the life that we live. This book has offered many talented pieces and artists that simply writing about it and showing just doesn't seem to be enough. Which brings me to my favorite part in this section about Time. The timing of an event or a piece reflects the times of society. But, what if one puts an antique piece in a gallery, is it then considered the present time? Or the past time? Like, no one really knows.

And it's raining.
The most bipolar desert EVER!
My favorite about this is that the trees are faded in the background but in the water droplets they are merely clear.
Propaganda Poster!!
I choose this sort of subject because everybody reads things on the internet and believes them! When a lot of the information is false. Kinda like, 70% of statistics on the internet are made up. And who's to know that that statistic isn't made up? So, read up!

I absolutely LOVE doing 3-D sculpture so this section was right in my realm. I did take three-dimensional art with Sena last semester and it was my favorite class, I had so much fun with it. Though, an expensive class it's worth it. We should really offer a more advanced three-dimensional sculpture class. But, on page 182, where it talks about Orthographic projection, I had no idea that it was called that, and this word is probably used alot in architectural schools but it is such a fancy word that is fun to say. Especially with working with a 3-D printer, or a CNC machine, this word is one to keep in my vocabulary.

LTI pages 149 - 176
Ahh, the knowledge attained while reading a textbook. On page 161, the paragraph about immediacy, I love the combination of immediacy, clarity, and resonance. For these three words can mean many different things by many different people. For everyone has their own meaning to a word. Thus, bringing me to my next observation of visual strategies. While, everyone has their own idea of appropiateness and recontextualization it all flows with the times, and flows with the mind and and the setting.

Who can relate?
Even though, most of us don't get enough sleep, eat three meals a day, or dream about tomorrow, or yesterday. Here's a simple reminder to just enjoy what is happening right now. (But right now you're reading this) So enjoy it.

Launching MY Imagination pages 134-149
This section of the book is majorly interesting to me. Especially starting off the section with "most do many variations before moving to a new subject" (134) was very easing to me. Since I like to do many variations if a product before I move onto my final one. The part in this section that I really liked was the part about critiquing. Since in all my art classes we critique each others work this is very useful information to know overall. I like the explanation of the descriptive critique since that is what we do mostly while critique others. Plus, it was helpful on the sight like what to look for and how to say it.

Abstract Fonts
And, here is my abstract font project. I would like to keep what three letters I used a secret, unless someone comments asking what my letters are, or take a wild guess at it! I'll let you know if your wrong or right.

I find it very helpful that most of my classes this semester coincide with eachother, like the beginning of the section talking about thumbnail sketches and model making, I just love it and it makes it easier to learn. The attentiveness paragraph on page 129 really grabbed my attention, because it is true that creative people pay attention to seemingly minor details. I realize this especially during critiques, and even just watching the trees change colors on a daily basis. It's the little details that make it. Also, on page 133 "When in doubt, crank it out" (When in doubt, throttle out) Both of these sayings mean so much in just a few words. But these few chapters are just like advice without even realizing it, and it's good advice to give to someone who is about to start a new project.

Launching the Imagination Pages 111-123
The opening up this section almost seemed kind of irrelevant because it was more about creating a 3-D piece rather than a digital piece. With supplying materials and what not. But, the part that I really tuned into was using Divergent Thinking, with specific results that are hard to predict. Which, also reminds me of this upcoming project in Illustrator. Nobody knows how their font piece is going to work, it is just going to happen. Therefore it happens to be one of those pieces where you just got to keep an extremely open mind. Keeping a journal for me is a great way to organize and clear my thoughts for the next go around, and works amazingly well!

Creepily Disturbing....
For some reason, I felt the urge to post this here. As most of us may know what these are... it is kinda sad, true, but oddly freakish about these photo's presented below in the link...
http://moviepilot.com/posts/2014/09/16/this-disturbing-fan-art-shows-the-darkest-days-of-our-favorite-90s-cartoons-2275138?lt_source=external,manual
Oh Paul Ribera, you've definitely brought to the sad reality to this world. I have unfortunately lost many many many MANY high school friends to drugs, and that scene is no where near the scene I was going to put myself into so they went off to do their thing, and I'm doing the right thing. As all of us here are (to our best abilities).
I would also like to add, if this is to much or to ugly anything, I will remove. I just had the urge to post this reality sense of the people that we know change into things that we don't expect them to.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED that they talked about the construction of Mulan (100-101), since that was one of my FAVORITE Disney movies... and it makes me want to watch it now that I'm older and that I have read this about the movie itself... It makes it just that more interesting. And it's almost like how as an adult you watch little kid movies and catch hidden messages or the moral of the show itself, this is just a deeper understanding. Though, the book talks about alot Thomas Eakins Double Jump, I find it very interesting myself, in how the very first 'Person" is the boldest and not as faded, as I think that the last "person" should be very bold as well. But, the book could not have thought of a better example for fragmentation.

Photomontage Project "One Step Back"
From the moment that motion was rambled off in the list of ideas for this project, I instantly thought of a train. Before I moved closer to school, I lived in Finley (Fintuckey) And the trains run what seems like every twenty minutes. After living out there for a year, I got used to them. But now I live in Richland, and I for some crazy reason wanted to remember the train. I then took an adventure out to Toothaker to wait for the train. I waited for about half an hour then the first train came by. Being my luck, it was the kind of the train that I wanted to do a project on; it was an amtrak train, not a cargo train. So I waited some more. Waiting for another hour I start to get pretty bored, so I then took off down the road that goes alongside the railroad track. Took some selfies, and pictures of my truck and finally I hear the ground rumble again. 'Get ready' I told myself, cause the day light was running away fast. It came by so fast, such an adrenaline rush it was amazing. I took 78 pictures of one train in like a minute. Also, that is why I named it 'One Step Back' because I was standing pretty close to it and as more of the train went by the more I wanted to take a step back cause I was just so close.
For this project I mainly used the magic tool, the lasso tool, the blur tool, the smudge tool, and the eraser to my advantage. Many of my classmates helped me as well. One day in class I got overly frustrated and thought to myself that this is ridiculous that I feel like this, so I then went home and played with my photomontage for 5 hours figuring out photoshop. And wala! Here it is.

Launching the Imagination Pages 81-98
Right as I opened up to page 81 my attention was immediately drawn the picture on the bottom, the first thing I saw was the boy and his fire breath. Then I started looking around the picture recognizing how different this painting really was. With the fish bowl being front and center, it's almost as if the artist wanted to show off the fish more than anything. But the rest of the chapter is a hoot. Once again whenever I read in the book I always think of my own pieces, whether how much rhythm they have, or the isolation, or contrast. It all grabs my attention to think about my pieces in that sense. As for getting into chapter four, it reminds me of drawing class, and to me became an extra reminder to keep in mind of my linear perspective in my pieces as well as the space I am using.

Launching the Imagination pages 66 - 81
While reading this section of the book I had kept in the back of my mind about my photomontage and how to improve critiques and reviewing artwork. The six essential aspects of grouping, containment, repetition, proximity, continuity, and closure; all gave me insights on what I should do to make my photo montage better and more appealing the moving eye. Also, I really enjoyed reading about the different kinds of symmetry's and balances, it brings me back to my point about the moving eye. But, I love how this part all ties into each other from the beginning of the section the end of the assigned section. From groupings, to balance, to symmetry, back to grouping to apply the right kind of symmetry.

Self-Portrait
My Self-Portrait portrays my eyes, lips and hair on a tree. I am a nature type of person. I picked a tree because tree’s are always growing, and developing new limbs and growing new leaves. Especially each year, they produce something new of themselves all the time. Tree’s adjust with their environments and stay put were they know they are happy. Tree’s enjoy their scenery and provide the best thing for this Earth, which is oxygen. I feel as though I provide the best thing for the Earth that I can provide, and that is productiveness, organization, growth, strength, protectiveness, nurturing, and being happy. Though a tree provides all these positive things that are acquainted with life, there are negatives too. Enduring harsh weather, fearing that they will be cut down, pollution, crowdedness, bullies, and diseases. Trees provide a long life full of many uses, also being as furniture, warmth, paper, plastic, many more. A Tree provides a life full of many uses, and purposes. Showing that they are multi-functional, as I feel as I have the ability to attain many purposes in life as well, while I grow and branch out my experiences for further my limbs to greater this Earth.

Launching the Imagination (Preface - page 66)
Intro and Preface;
I have never been required to read the Preface in a textbook before, but the Intro I have. Though, I have had previous teaching from the "A guide to three-dimensional design" textbook, I am happy to be involved this textbook too.
I really liked how the intro opened up with defining Design; as a noun and as a verb (xviii continued to xix). This book will really help with expanding personal potential with the design process, and that is exciting.

Pages 2 - 10
The first paragraph of chapter one brought me all the way back to Middle School when my art teacher told us to define 'line'. I had no clue. Now being in college and studying art it is amazing, the big long definition that 'a line' has. What really brought my attention to this section of reading was the subject on page nine of Using Line. The fact being, that a line is what everything is composed of.
Pages 10-38
I love how detailed this book can get, the detail to describe "shape" just puts a picture in my head of what the book is explaining before I look at the example given. On page 16, I found it funny how a nonobjective or nonrepresentational shapes are pure forms, since I would think that it would be the other way around. Also, the book gave me a better meaning of texture as well, explaining in more depth about texture on a canvas, and how the artist uses trompe l'oeil (26) for their viewers. (The word trompe l'oeil kind of sounds like tromp the eye). Then, wrapping up this section with value, brings both shape and texture into a good perspective.
Pages 38-54
OOOOO! COLOR!
Once again, this book has amazing detail on what seems to be such a simple topic. The discussion of color makes me happy that the book discusses color. Color is such an important part of our lives it is so amazing. I really enjoy the picture on page 42, 2.9 A-D, the different effects that the background can have on the presented colors really puts a twist to the eye. Either if the painting being made is mainly dark colors, or bright colors they are all very appealing as well. It would be so boring if everybody saw or just made art in Black and White (reminds me of the movie The Giver....) Anyway, the discussion of Harmony and Disharmony is a great deeper understanding of Color itself. I really like the split complementary color schemes (51). It reminds me of myself getting decorations for my new apartment that I'm moving into, to make certain pieces pop! But, I also like this scheme because it does offer more options that the complementary color scheme, but not quite as interesting as the triadic color scheme.

Pages 54-66
These pages were very inspiration to me, since I have been decorating my brand new apartment and organizing things by color! And using color in each room to act for different emotions. Just like the sentence on page 60. " In each case, color is used to heighten emotion rather than to represent reality." This is so true, that colors and decorations work to heighten emotions, cause if I were to leave all of my walls plain I would be upset, and unhappy, but my decorations make it happy, and have a homey feel to my new apartment! Either way, colors help with emotions and brighten the mood and day. They definitely determine how one is going to feel based on the color present.
P.S. I swear I did these all on time! I'm getting it figured out!
From now on, they will be all their own post!
